Sorry but I have to be my librarian self for a minute and reblog this link. I grew up in New Haven and always loved visiting the Beinecke. The walls are made of translucent marble that filters the sunlight to protect the rare books and manuscripts. The effect is stunning - the pictures don’t do it justice.

Trying to make up for being really late to the 21st century music party.
You can help by sending or tweeting me your recommendations.
So far my favorites are bands like Incubus, Coheed and Cambria, The Dead Weather, The White Stripes, and The Black Keys. Bands I've always liked include Yes, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Crowes, Pink Floyd, and Heart, to name just a few. (Yeah, I tend to like bands with colors in their names. I even like Maroon 5.)
Here's a list of some of the bands and solo artists mentioned in this blog.
