Today was my last day of physical therapy (because my insurance ran out), and although I’m noticeably better, I still face what might turn out to be a lifetime of impairment. On my first day of therapy two months ago, I had a bit of a meltdown, but the people there were so nice to me, and took me into a private room to let me cry it out. Today I cried again, because I’m not going to see them anymore. I’ve been crying for the past couple of days anyway (because of that stupid other thing I’ve been blogging about), so it didn’t take much. Anyway, they have a radio playing in the gym where I’ve been going for therapy. Today, just as I was finishing up my very last exercise and wondering how I’m going to manage from now on, this song started playing. I hadn’t heard it in about a hundred years. You remember it - “I get knocked down, but I get up again, you’re never gonna keep me down.” That did it. I’ve been sniffling ever since. Like the sign says: Whatever.
