Another 30 day music challenge
19. Snog, marry, avoid the first 3 artists on shuffle.
We don’t say “snog” here in the U.S., but I get the picture. As for “marry,” I’ve already blogged extensively about how I would not marry any musician or artist, because I know from experience that what attracts you to them is what eventually drives you insane. “Avoid” makes no sense, because if they’re on my iPod, it means I like them, so why would I want to avoid them? So really, the question is, “to snog, or not to snog?” So here goes: The first song to come up is, appropriately enough, Strange Desire by The Black Keys. Definitely snog. One, or the other, or preferably both. Next up is I Fought Piranhas by The White Stripes. Jack White I would so totally snog. Finally, Sweet Cloud by The Kills. Well, I think Jamie Hince is or was married to a supermodel, so I don’t think I could compete with that. However, although I’ve never snogged or had the desire to snog a woman, I sure wouldn’t kick Alison Mosshart off my couch.

The Black Keys at Firefly 2012 - Lonely Boy (excerpt) & I Got Mine
True to form, my camera battery flatlined during the set’s last song. So many bands, so little juice. But just before the final encore I remembered I also had an iTouch with me. Not fancy, but at least in some way I was able to capture a great ending to a great festival.
The Black Keys at Firefly 2012 - Little Black Submarines
Blurry view, awesome song.
The Black Keys at Firefly 2012 - Run Right Back (excerpt)
Bless the big screen. Curse whatever made me press “stop.”
The Black Keys at Firefly 2012 - Next Girl
The Black Keys at Firefly 2012 - Howlin’ For You
Mmmf. I’d howl for Dan Auerbach.

The Black Keys - Little Black Submarines
Not sure why it’s taken me so long to realize how hot Dan Auerbach is. If they ever made a movie about the Black Keys, Ryan Gosling could play him, no?
